Hi André,
I got your email too
But I will reply here, ok?
Well, nice to see somebody to try my first IDE-port from 1999 again.
I have to dig myself, this has been a long long time.....
-The Atari has no knowledge about IDE-port, so to use it, you need to have drivers.
The drivers I made are copied into the 16k RAM under the BIOS.
Unfortunately a 600XL has no 16k RAM under the BIOS, so you need to burn a 16k EPROM.
(Unless your 600xl has 64k installed).
-The interface is just a interface, nothing more, so a signal-bridge between IDE-devices and the Atari.
I designed a specific layout, were "disks" are stored, this layout is called MyIDE.
This layout is done with FDISK.BAS
Its not easy to setup for the first time, because you need to do a special sequence to get it to work.
Please follow the quick manual, that will bring up a working system.
(use the link you have and then the 3.1 setup, that is what I released back then)
OK, I am going to dig further, for as I can remember I did an update into the newer MyBIOS that supports the old 3.1 interface (you build).
This update has a build-in FDISK and some more user-friendly menu's.
Back later, need to refresh my memory.....
Sijmen.
