I've kept playing with SpartaDOS X and MyIDE, and I hacked up a version of the MyIDE 4.3i OS to return the percom block, so the SpartaDOS format command works. I used it to build a directory on one of my 655535 sector partitions. Since I use mainly my own tools for managing the Image Space, I used that area of Mr.Atari's OS for the percom block routine. I also modified it so that pressing START loads the first image from Image Space rather than load the built-in image routine (which is now missing.)

This is sounding good. Eager to try the new OS when you get it finalized. I can allways go back to using CF cards instead of SD. Also looking forward to an internal 44i OS so I can burn to have a hard OS.

Think MyIDE will ever support more than 3 partitions? That would be a big plus. :)

I'm working on the 4.4F beta (again).
Still stuggling with programming space.
For now, it does not fit (the copy sio<->image is the problem).
If possible I'll upload a beta for 4.4I/E this weekend.

It supports percom block calling :-)
8 HD parititions, highspeed sio, 'hidden' myide-table for most compatibility.

Later,
Sijmen.

Really? Nice! I'll try it. I'm not using image space atm anyway, if that's what you mean.

That sounds great Sijmen! Does the internal version support 8 HD partitions and percom block read? How did you solve the percom block number of sectors? ie. for 720 sector images, the actual sector count is probably 1008 or something similiar.

Hi, This is not really a "new" OS. Mostly a hack of Sijmen's excellent work with 43i (and I lost the built-in image routine to do it.) I'm looking forward to seeing 4.4I as well!

Yes, I do. It could support more than 8, if you had the ability to swap them in and out. Someone may be working on a tool to do that.
