Hi,

I have a question about myidetool/myide manager cooperation. I don't know, how to add another images to my MyIDE CF harddrive with myide manager mode enabled.

E.g. I can write a bunch of files in one batch like this:

myidetool /dev/sdb -w -i 1 -Ic 1 -fi games/floppy/*.[Aa][Tt][Rr]

Then there is a "MyIDE Image Manager Config" image created at the very last image slot a everything works. But how to add an another image(s) and preserve/update this special image? When I try to write at first available slot above, it ends with "illegal image slot number" error. When I use the slot number of the config file, it ends with "non-consecutive images are not allowed in Image Manager mode". Do I somethnig wrong or it is a myidetool bug?

BTW, where can I download the movies and players? The http://www.mr-atari.com/demos/ page does not work :(

My provider had blocked 'open dir' structure. It's now open again.

Hias and Shawn (oeps) will hopefully answer your questions about there software.

Cheers,

Hi,

Hias can probably help more, but from the README file of MyIDETool:

When image manager support is enabled (by using any of the '-I...'
options), the next image slot that is not used by the image manager
will automatically be selected. You don't have to set the slot number
manually with the '-i number' option if you just want to add images
to your drive. Of course, you may use the '-i number' option to
overwrite any previously stored images that are already under image
manager control. In this case the existing category information will
be preserved for this slot, unless you use the '-Ic number' option.

Note: The image manager requires that all slots are used consecutively.
You'll get an error if you enabled image manager support and specify
an illegal slot number. For example: if you have currently 10 images
in the image manager table you may write to slots 1-10 (to overwrite
an image) and to slot 11 (to add a new image to the image manager).
Of course you are still able to write to any arbitrary image slot
number if you don't enable image manager support.

So, according to the documentation, you can add images, and MyIDETool will automatically put them in the next available image, and also automatically update the MyIDE Image Manager Config information (the very last image slot) as well.
