Hardware Introduction

General Information

MyIDE + Flash Interface (Cartridge Version)

The MyIDE Interface connects any IDE hard disk or compatible device directly to your Atari 8-bit Computer, allowing you to store your files and boot directly from any hard disk partition.

The cartridge can self power small IDE devices like the Transcend IDE-Flash modules seen above and many IDE->CF adapters. Using the MyIDE+Flash in this way gives you a very portable plug-and-play hard disk system that can easily be moved from computer to computer.

The standard MyIDE boot roms and utilities allow you to set up multiple hard disk partitions, up to 16MB each (the maximum size Atari DOS can recognize) and load them with your own DOS systems and/or data files.

In addition, the built-in MyIDE image manager allows you to set up an 'image area' on your hard disk which contains ATR floppy disk images, so you can easily boot your favorite 'floppy only' games directly from a lightning fast hard disk!

Classic MyIDE Internal Interface (PCB Version, Internal Installation)

The MyIDE Interface connects any IDE hard disk or compatible device directly to your Atari 8-bit Computer, allowing you to store your files and boot directly from any hard disk partition.

The internal interface can self power small IDE devices like the Transcend IDE-Flash modules seen above and many IDE->CF adapters.

The internal interface for XL/XE computers includes the MyIDE ROM OS in Flash Memory and is in-system upgradable using the free tools provided. When using the internal interface with XEGS computer the BASIC and Missile Command ROM areas can also be flash programmed with any 8k cartridge image you desire.
