Maybe the Jag, has got me lazy. On the Jag you can reboot the Jag just by press * AND # Is there a way to do this with the SD Cartridge so we can go back to the game load screen at any time?

You would have to replace the BIOS in the 5200 to make that work. :-|

How about making the following ports available for my (and others') Ultimate SD cartridge(s):

Adventure II
Combat 2 Advanced
Haunted House II 3D
Klax
Sinistar
Space Invaders Arcade Edition (5200 hack)
and
Tempest (the finished version, I only have the unfinished prototype version on my multicart and DO already own the finished Cartridge release, bought on AtariAge)

BTW, I already own all of the games above in cartridge form. Somebody make it happen!!!

You should be able to make your own fair use copies if you own the cartridges, using the cartridge dumping adapter for the Maxflash USB programmer.

However, the actual licensing terms of every homebrew title may vary, some may not allow dumping even for 'fair use' reasons. Check with the publisher for details on a particular title.

Thanks Steve. How do I obtain the dumping adapter and also the USB programmer, and will it work for the 5200, as I do not see that device on your site. Please go ahead and PM me the info.

Thanks,

Ray Jackson

I will send you a PM as well. You can find both items here:

http://www.atarimax.com/flashcart/

Using this item does require a PC with Windows, unlike the SD cartridges themselves.

Thanks,

Steve

The Atari Max 5200 Ultimate SD Cart is a necessity for any 5200 console owner. Even though I own most of the 5200 cart library, the SD Cart so perfect running all the commercial games in one cart with an easy game select Menu. In addition to discovering so many home brews and Atari 800 computer conversions; think of the potential of future games developed.

One game on my wish list:

REACTOR
The Arcade game Reactor made by Gottlieb only saw a 2600 console release put out by Parker Brothers. Imagine if that game played with an Atari 5200 Trakball. I would buy the homebrew cart as well as add a version to the Atari max 5200 SD cart if someone would code it.
