I've been trying to put some images on my CF card on my MyIDE-II. I've tried several versions, but the results are the same. I can't get the NAME to "stick" to the menu slot.

1) I power on
2) I select 4.8.06 F2 or 4.8.05 FE
3) I hold START and press RETURN. I don't release START until the image menu comes up.
4) I use the up/down arrow keys to select the next available menu slot.
5) I press "N" and the cursor moves over and the left margin ">" goes away.
6) I type the name and press RETURN. The name instantly goes away and the ">" reappears.

7) Once in a great while the name will "stick" on the menu slot and then I can copy from D1: in APE. Then it works.

What am I doing wrong, or is it the MyIDE-II software?

Thanks,
Larry

Hi Larry,

The Name only sticks when you first copy an image to a slot and then name it. The N feature is only meant (I guess) to re-name an image that is already stored.

So in fact you could live without the N feature, if you name the image already right during the copy process.

Hi Marius-

Thanks. So (going into a bit more detail), the first thing that I need to do is press ">" (or "<" if I wanted to copy the other way). THEN I type the name I'll use, and when I hit RETURN, the the screen turns red/pink and asks if I'm sure.

Got it!

Back from a holiday to France :-)

The N feature is for re-naming or undelete an image.
You must know the density of the original when undeleting.
Otherwise chances are big it won't boot.

The density must be valid (S, M or D) for the name to store.

Re-naming, the density is unchanged.

Grtz!
Sijmen.
