Isn't that called an SIO2SD? :-p

But seriously an SD cart would be nice... I'm working on an SD cart for another platform right now, maybe I'll back port that work if time allows.

I agree, I'm really missing this from the palette, although all of them are great products.

The most serious drawback of SIO2SD for me is the extra display where you have to select between images. A SD solution should be 100% menu driven IMHO, esp. for using it with a XEGS :D

Then just buy/build an SDrive :-)

I have one here (plus the parts for a second one) and it's really nice. Best thing: the parts only cost some 15 EUR, so it's quite cheap.

so long,

You mean this: http://raster.infos.cz/atari/hw/sdrive/sdriveen.htm

Looks exactly what I would need. How much are they plug and play ?

I don't know if someone's currently selling complete units. I know of 2 sources, but they were really expensive (some 100-150 USD):

I looked at the schematics given for building an sdrive and the one thing that seemed to be missing was an additional atari SIO port for use with the SIO2PC interface or connection of a physical drive for transfer of files to the SD card.
So it seems one would be restricted to using the PC with a Sd read/write interface to transfer backed up atari files and images to the SD card and then dealing with file name compatablility with with Atari.
