Hi, me again. :D

Another question... I am getting ready to sell my entire floppy disk collection to a fella in Hong Kong ...

Which in and of itself leads me to question, is there any reason why these disks from the USA would not work on a machine in Hong Kong?

Anyway, I ran across some stories and text files I had written using the 800 and the PaperClip word processor. I am having difficulty figuring out how to transfer the .txt files from my 1050 drive to the PC hard drive. I have the SIO2PC cable and APE software, and I see I could create an .ATR file from the disk, but how do I copy a .txt file from the Atari to the PC?

Thanks for all the help!

Randy

Your disks should read fine in any Atari.

If you have a registered version of APE try this:

Set your real floppy drive to drive #1
Boot Atari DOS 2.0 or MyDOS 4.53 off drive #1
Insert the disk with your Paperclip files in drive #1
Set the APE PC-Mirror as drive #2 and choose a path like C:\
In Atari DOS do (C)opy then from drive 1 (real drive) to drive 2 (pc-mirror)

If it goes right the file should appear on your hard drive in the path you set up for the pc-mirror. :)

Thanks! I'd hate to send them all the way to Hong Kong, only to find out he couldn't use them. It's not the way I like to do business.

..and if you don't have a registered version, pay me!!

Seriously, I had forgotten that I never went past the trial version of APE. So, I just Paypal'd you $49.99, which, personally, I think is fair for all the hard work you've done in producing this. That, and answering my questions. So, what's next? Will I be getting a secret code?

The version of APE I have is 2.0.6...is that the most recent one?

Thanks again for the help!

Hi steven,

How do you distribute updates for APE ?
How can I get the new version ?
Should I send you an e-mail each time I see a new version on your web site ?

I have the registered version (2.0.7).

A restricted area in your website would be great to let registered users download upgrades...

Keep up the good work

Than you.

Eric.
