I am investigating making a new 80-column (Gr.8) display cartridge for the A8. What I'd like to do is relocate the code after boot-up and then shut down the cart to reclaim the upper memory lost with the cart. Is there some documentation somewhere on how to shut it down?
Thanks,
Larry

For the 1Mb Cart it is $D510, and I believe the 8Mb cart is $D580.

Shawn is right, those locations will turn the cartriges off, letting you access the memory underneath that area again.

Also be sure to update the cartridge interlock register. There is code in the flash cartridge source functions (cart_on and cart_off) that show how to do that.
