Hi, getting back to this after many years...

I have the RS232 version of SIO2PC and the AtariMax cart. I'm connected directly to the serial port on my PC. When I run Ape (Trial - v3.0.2), it successfully connects during configuration wizard, but when in ape it displays "RS232 driver failed to initialize!". Do I need a newer version of Ape? I am on Windows 10 64-bit.

Assuming I get this working, which program should I use for this configuration and programming the 8mbit Flash Cartridge?

Thanks!

No idea about windows 10, you have a real serial-port on your machine?
Looks like a driver issue to me.
Or you (or ape) selected a wrong port/irq

Your cartridge can be flashed directly from your atari.
Create a workbook, save the disk ATR and boot this disk over SIO2PC with your atari.
The 8mb must be in the slot, hold option when booting.

Thanks for the reply. Oddly, I do have a serial port on my fairly new PC. The SIO2PC is working properly when used with RespeQT.

You mention workbook -- I think that is from the AtariMax Studio? Although that seems to work only with USB, perhaps I can build the cartridge workbooks/ATR from there and boot it with RespeQT.

In the workbook program (yes studio from atarimax), you can save your cartridge compilation as ATR. Yes, you can boot that with any tool that supports sio2pc. This ATR has the ability in flashing.

Thanks for your tips! I built the workbook in Studio, saved as ATR and booted it, and all is well.
