Any ETA on that new firmware? I'm anxious to get this thing going. :)

Still no joy. Issue remains the same. Now I can only get to about 2% before it bombs.

I guess I'll have to have it here to see whats happening then.

Please send me an e-mail @ classics@atarimax.com and I will arrange to exchange these items for you.

Thanks

Steve

Yep this one works for me! Flashed two carts so far. I will play with it some more, but so far so good. This seems a lot slower though. I don't suppose there is some way to add a user settable parameter that we can play with to see how far we can push the timings during a flash?

FYI
It seemed I was having problems flashin my 8mbit card when it was around 90% full. It was saying user aborted around 4% completion. I just flashed with the latest firmware posted here and so far so good.

I was having a problem with one of my 8Mb carts not programming properly either. I used this firmware update and now everything is working great. Highly recommended!

Oops I was cleaning up the firmware posts that didn't work and deleted the one that did. :-/ The current firmware is attached here again.

Glad to get it sorted away, thanks for trying it. :-)

I will add something that can be tweaked from the GUI in the next version. The timings right now are much longer than I think should be required.

Just an FYI about timing issues. I'd used the USB programmer and original software with threee 8mbit carts on a half dozen or so occasions. Worked fine; no problems. I just tried to re-write a cart today with some changes, and it aborted 4% of the way through. Tried 3 seperate times with the same results. Then I realized one thing.....I had a thumb-drive plugged into a USB port. I have 3 ports on the front of my computer. Previously the cart burner was the ONLY usb device connected to my machine (other than the keyboard/mouse on the back jack).

So, just to let anyone else know who runs into trouble.....try unplugging all other usb devices. The cart programmer seems to like to be the only usb device in use.

A new firmware has been posted here:

http://www.atarimax.com/flashcart/forum ... .php?t=880

It fixes the issues above and also addresses a potential power glitch problem that could cause loss of the programmer firmware when a cartridge is plugged in.
