Post subject:  Lastest Maxflash USB Programmer Firmware
This update fixes issues with aborted programming cycles and possible accidental flash erasure when connecting or disconnecting a cartridge.

All users who received a programmer before October 25th, 2009 should apply this update.

To apply the firmware update, unzip the attachment to obtain the core_firmware.bin file.

Attach your programmer with no flash cartridge inserted and start the Maxflash Studio application.

Use the 'Update Programmer Firmware' option on the Tools menu at the top of the application.

When prompted, provide it with the core_firmware.bin file to complete the update.

I have added an auto-update function to Maxflash Studio so the required firmware version is always packed with the matching Maxflash Studio version.

To upgrade your programmer firmware, download and install the latest Maxflash Studio software from:

http://www.atarimax.com/flashcart/docum ... taller.exe

Once that is installed, from the drop down menu select:

Tools -> Update Programmer Firmware -> Automatic Update to Minimum Required Version

This procedure will always get you the latest Maxflash Studio software version and the latest USB firmware in the same step. :-)

Do you guys generally go for the firmware updates as soon as they're available or do you think more along the lines of "if it's not broken, don't fix it?"
