quick question
since disconnecting recently to do some tidying up my sio2pc USB no longer works. it's connected to a two drive system as drive 3. 2 1050s = drive 1 & drive 2

yeah, I get 3 blue flashes and continual blue light activity whenever to 1050 is in use.
the ape powers up and contant blue light is on on unit.
prosystem software loads up and detects the drive 1 drive(s) detected.
but when I try to write an ATR to the 1050 using START it displays in message window:
[drive 1] loading source disk image
[drive 1] 1 side(s), 40 tracks, 18 SPT, 128 BPS
[drive 1] Formatting destination disk

then a popup message:
Drive 1 aborted [drive failed format]

If I try without the format destination option ticked:-
Blue light comes on and in message box

[drive 1] loading source disk image
[drive 1] 1 side(s), 40 tracks, 18 SPT, 128 BPS

then it seems to hang

any clues? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling - same result.
Also, the 1050 itself works with the atari fine - both for formatting/reading/writing.

is there a set order to do things in or is there something i'm missing?

turn off indus gt mode...
Atari 1050 --- Same as the 810, plus Dual-Density capability. Two modes of operation:
1) Single-Sided, Single-Density, 90K, 810 compatible
2) Single-Sided, Dual-Density, otherwise known as "Enhanced Density" because it is not true double-density-- MFM 40 tracks x 26 sectors/track x 128 bytes/sector = 130K capacity
19.2Kbps transfer rate so no high speed unless it has happy or us doubler upgrade, it does not interleave does not track buffer.
if still a problem tell it do not probe as well
I like to write the empty sectors...

thanks all sorted.
definitely was the SIO connector on the USD drive. as i said it would read/write/format as part of the standard atari setup....but not thru the SIO2PC.
strange thing is my std 1050 & happy 1050 both work fine with SIO2PC.

but thanks again
