Post subject:  Individual floppy file access using SIO2PC USB

I am trying to pull a large number of old files from Atari 810 and Atari 1050 floppies. These files are basically various text and Atari word processing created files (as opposed to game disks or program binary files).

Is there any way I can access these old disks using my 810 and/or 1050 drives and the SIO2PC USB module?

I am not trying to create disk images or to copy the entire disk contents. I want to do the equivalent of using File Explorer to see what is on each disk then copy the individual files I'm interested in.

Thanks for reading.

Sincerely,
mishap

I would suggest, make a copy/image and load that with altirra.
In altirra you can open the disk-explorer which allows you to drag and drop files to your PC.

I do not know (yet) of any program that drives a 810/1050 from a PC.
Although now a days through a FTDI this would be quit easy.

Sijmen.

oh you would have to use pro mode to pull the complete image and then use imagic or registered APE to read the directories off images.. No direct usb/serial method...

You could also use SCP or Kryoflux to pull streams make images and such then read the directory....

other choice is really sketchy to use anadisk on old pc with correct floppy drive and bios , that could read and write possibly..
