If for some reason driver installation fails or is cancelled, you could end up with your SIO2PC adapter shown in the 'Other Devices' section of the Windows Device Manager, with no driver installed.
To correct this on 32-bit platforms:
Copy these files to a folder on your desktop:
usb5200.sys usb5200.cat usb5200.dll usbsio.inf
Copy these from the root directory of your CD, not the 64-bit directory if it exists. Some versions of 32-bit windows will try to install 64-bit drivers, even though they will never work.
Double click on the usb5200.cat file and verify that it says that the catalog file is valid at the top of the window that opens.
If that works the drivers are OK and the files are not corrupted. Then go to the control panel and double click on the entry for the SIO2PC interface in the 'Other Devices' section.
Use the 'Re-install driver' option and when prompted for the location, select the usbsio.inf file inside the folder on your desktop instead of the CD.
For 64-bit editions of Windows, follow the same directions above, except copy the drivers from the "64-bit Device Drivers" directory on your CD, not the root directory.
