hi

I wanted to build me a myide inyterna to directly load the games from compactflash

but to do this needs to replace l os, I have dissaldato the rom where cè l os the basic and misslecombact.
I have prepared an eprom 27c256 comns inside a file you contain l os, bases, misselcombact, but I don't have the pinotu of the rom atrari that and a c101687, turning online from all the parts I/you/they have succeeded in finding, the pin out of the rom of the xe / xl however these are not from 32k but from 16, therefore enough one 128 and the pin and different.
does someone know where I can find the pinout of the c101687-001?
thanks

I have taken the file from this viewtopic.php?f=7&t=358 I have used myide that present xges-os in the file zip, but it doesn't work, video is viola.
me put 27c256 directly on stoker, pin different out from c101687 I believe.

you excuse me for my English, me to use translator

The 27c256 is pin-compatible with the XEGS-rom.
So you can remove the rom, and put the eprom in.

After removing the rom, Did you test the system with a 28p socket and the (removed) atari-rom?
That should work before you try the XEGS-MyIDE-eprom.

I can send you a new 4.7 beta version for XEGS is you want.

Later,
Sijmen.

In linux, why are you using the cat command and not the dd command?
Just curious.

My translator sucks big time and tells me it cannot translate your post.
I also use Puppy linux (Lucid) as my OS and have used the dd command to make images of physical floppy disks and floppy disks from images.
Puppy is a one user linux that does not use sudo to be able to use the commands.
But I will not delve into linux further as this is in fact an Atari forum!

Anyway, hope I helped you in a small way.
Also, do not forget that in linux using the cat command that if you are writing to a mounted device, you have to umount it to get the data written to the device.
Do NOT use dd on a mounted device!!
I learned the hard way trashing two hard drives in the process!

As to the compact flash, a two gig one will hold most everything Atari for you. And since you are restricted to 65535 sector partitions, there is more than enough room on a 2gig one.

I use Transcend, Lexar, Dane-elec and no-name-brands.
(do NOT use kingston)

The manual is not in spanish, sorry, but please read the setup page.
viewtopic.php?p=6326#p6326

To transfer stuff (linux) to the CF you need to myidetool.exe, found in the lba2-manager.zip
I use windows, not linux, so please don't ask how it works under linux :-(

Grtz,
Sijmen.

P.S. Sequence is: 8k BASIC, 8k Missile Command, 16k BIOS = XEGS-OS

I do not know if this will help, but if one has linux as their OS and wants to run a windows program, just install wine on linux.
It is sort of a windows interface for linux that allows one to run windows programs.
I have ran Ape successfully with it as well as MaxFlash Studio.

No problem :-)

You need no file for the CF, the BIOS does all the work.
But you need to configure the CF-card for usage with the IDE-menu (fdisk on old bios)

Did you use the 4.7 beta?
Press HELP to enter the IDE_menu.
Follow the quickguide to make it bootable.
You need to have MyDOS (or other DOS) in D1:

-------------------------
The older 4.3I version:
Boot into BASIC then type BYE/enter for FDISK.

Yes that will work with the new MyBIOS.

Here is one for 6 euro.

Before you buy, does your interface now work?

Later,
Sijmen.

Avere una bella giornata e fino a domani :-)
