The title says it all.

Just drop a "post reply"

If I add a file or change[EDIT] the config.sys file of the MYBIOSFS.ROM or the MYBIOSFS-altirra.rom, it breaks the MyBIOS screen and just loads SDX 445 X. Is there any way to have my own config.sys in rom without using config.sys file on disk...

Thanks

Hi Roy,

Yes this is a SDX issue.
I have talked to the SDX-guys about the dual-setup but did not get a commitment

You find the SDX-image in the first 256k of the 512k MyBIOSFS.ROM file.
As you know, the altirra image is a reverse image of all 8k blocks.

After moddig the SDX-rom with the spartados tool:
You have to change the start-up-bank in the first bank of the 8k SDX image.
Found at $1FF1 from $00 to $20.
This can easily be done with a hex-editor of some kind.
(Bank $20 is the start-up bank of MyBIOS-SIDE)

Alternative and you can check that for me :-)
Put the switch in SIDE and powerup, wait for menu, it should appear.
Then switch back to SDX.

Later,
Sijmen.

Thanks I will do that.. I have flashed the original rom back to SIDE, but now I will edit the rom after editing the rom with SDXimageuser.[tool]

How to boot from SIO D1: in 4.7.02?
When I use Shft-Cntl-D, it seems to have no effect. This worked when (many changes ago) when you booted to the boot menu, but I can't seem to get it to work now.
With 4.7 you can't disable the IDE partition from the menu (as in 4.6.x). How do you do it?

S+S+O, powerup -> menu.
Change partition <letter> to drive <enter>
This will set "-", known as an unassigned drive.
This way you can setup multiple 16Mb game disks and assign them as D1: when needed.

You are not the first one with this comment.
Hmmm, time to update the manual......

[to RoyE]
Can you tell me what happens when you do not alter $1FF1 and powerup SIDE with the switch to SIDE?
In theory the MyBIOS-SIDE menu should appear.

Sijmen.

Since the MyIDE disk version 47DE works so well I have not use the the other version very often. But I was hoping for a 'ROM' version of MyIDE Bios47DE so I can plug it into an eprom.

Thanks for your software... I have been a USER since 3.1e came out and really enjoy the original cartridge I bought from you... I still pull out that Atari occasionally to use 31e and the original MyIDE cart.

Hi Roy,

Thanks :-)

At the moment I'm deep into programming MyIDE-II and left the 4.7-folder untouched and unfinished......
Perhaps later this year I can compile a version for you.
The last setup (at my place) had a fully working ROM-image and all menus loaded from IDE.
You need a INSTALL disk to install the utilities to IDE-space.
One drawback, you need to run INSTALL on every IDE_device you are using with this 4.7-version
and not to forget to update all these media when a new version of 4.7 appears.

Later,
Sijmen.

Yes I have the 4.7.05 rom now, but the disk load versions are so much more fun. But Turbobasic breaks the soft OS.
