Post subject:  MyIDE+Flash Owners - Please Check Your Cartridge

If you own a MyIDE+Flash cartridge, please look into the edge connector of your cartridge and check to see if there are any wires soldered right at the edge connector, as shown in the photograph below.

One user reported that in a older, modified MyIDE+Flash (the old version without the corrections integrated into the PCB), that this wire came loose and had excess solder around the top of the edge connection that brought the solder joint in contact with the edge connector.

Any such cartridges should be sent to me for a free replacement with a PCB revision MyIDE+Flash and should no longer be used. Please e-mail classics@atarimax.com for return instructions.

These cartridges are older or original release revision MyIDE+Flash boards that may have been retro-fitted with additional bus hold ICs. All revisions other than the original integrate these changes into the PCB and do not have additional hand wiring.

Thank you to Andre for reporting this issue.

Here is an example photo of such a damaged connection with solder pats the top edge of the card.

Please note this only effects the oldest revisions of the original MyIDE+Flash cartridge that were hand assembled, then retro-fitted with PCB changes before shipping.

This does not effect any revision of the MyIDE-II.
