I have an ULTIMATE Cart cartridge bought with expectation it will solve my problem with BASIC XE. Does not matter which source of ROM file I am using from, it does not work. I have ATARI 800XL+256kB Rambo configuration. All external memory tests are showing 12 banks are present (should be 16). How I can see all banks at $8XXX are not present, but the other 12 starting at $AXXX are without errors. I did read on other forum, this behavior of 256kB Rambo is OK. I am afraid, it is not OK (for BASIC XE), if 4 banks "missing". I have also ToolBOX2 cartridge, inside BASIC XE with BASICXE.OSS file, which is working with EXTEND (covering functions given byt .OSS file with except of CALL, PROCEDURE, LOCAL, EXIT) ... finally I cannot verify last three commands, because it fails immediately on CALL, giving Error 5 = "Access Past String DIM" or undocumented error 33 ... looks like the part of RAM is not present, where the table of "name" of procedure should be, in other words, probably the internal ROM of ATARI is enabled, covering the RAM banks ...
I saw also on different forum a picture with Mr.ATARI's BASIC XE modified for MyIDE II ... Can I find it somewhere to try, maybe it will work? ... Some ideas, why CALL is not working?!
Thank you, Peter
