There are some MyDos Hacks I like to see.

1) Alphabetize directory.
2) Sectors displayed as bytes.
3) The ability to use numbers in the files name.

I don't ask for much.

I hate to be obstinate, but why not giving BeWeDOS (or SpartaDOS if you have the MyIDE Rom) a try?

All the things you want, are able then, and you don't have to do things the unhandy MyDOS way.

If you need any help, you could contact me. Even on MSN or AIM.

I guess you want to be compatible with the great GameLoader made by Hiassoft. It is a good reason to use MyDOS indeed, but for Bewe/Spartados there is a similar game/demo/binary/loader available with same compatibility results.

Hehe... but again: I don't want to force anyone into the Sparta or BeWe Dos Scene ;) Perhaps I should make a nice website (with movie) to promote this wonderful Dos.

Good luck :D

I could use owner's manual to SpartaDOS I can't seem to find one, I was hoping to get a copy of SpartaDOS from e-bay but I didn't see one yet.
Thanks to years of using the Atari STs and PCs I like to know how much bytes are used and are available. I MyDOS doesn't give full use of the my XF551  and the only other drive I got is a 1050 that on it's last legs. :(

There are docs about SpartaDOS and BEWEdos on the PoolDISK too (also available on www.atarimax.com )

SpartaDOS takes full advantage of any drive, but remember: if you are using MyIDE there are limitations on using highspeed sio.

Perhaps Hiassoft knows more about that? I thought I saw something about a highspeed sio Patch, but I didn't try or look after it yet.

SpartaDOS is like MSDOS on PC. With commands after a D1: or D2: prompt.

Marius

p.s. are you using a MyIDE with EPROM installed in your ATARI?

Yes, there are. Here on the forum:
http://www.atarimax.com/flashcart/forum ... .php?t=358
MyIDE for XEGS with BASIC support.
Use the "E" version for MyIDE from cartridge
or the "I" version for a internal MyIDE.
