Hey Mr. Atari... I liked the MyIde800 that you made me years ago and it was a lot of fun to use. Would be interested in seeing a 400/800 solution. In particular, the 400. :D

Hi All,

It's too early to talk in details. I (Mr.A) have talked with Steve (atarimax),
about picking up this project. The version I made for DrClu is proof of functioning.

My plan is to remove the 3 ROM's (called "D8" "E" "F" by Atari)
and to replace it by a small PCB that fits into the "E" or "F" socket.
Beside this there are 4 or 5 wires that needs to be soldered.
1 Mb FlashROM for re-programming the OS.
For now area C000-CFFF and D800-FFFF are usable, but perhaps Steve
has some tricks up his sleeve to address D000-D7FF as banked ROM like
a XL/XE does.

The OS (I will do this part) will be a modified XL/XE-OS to run on 400/800 platform.

This means the PCB must fit on the 800-OS-board or 400-main-PCB.

To keep things small I like the idea of doing a CF-only version.....

For now this is all I have. Nothing real, just thinkering.

Cheers,
Sijmen.
