I just attempted to flash a new OS into my internal unit, and when attempting to go back to my original setup, I ran into some obstacles that leads me to some questions:

1) What flash image is programmed into the internal device when it is shipped? Is it the "plain vanilla" 4.3I (no patches, no other added features) or is it something else?

2) Evidently the other flashers for the MyIDE *cartridge* will not work with the internal interface , even though the extra (1Mb) space is available?

Although I was successful in recovering my original drive, I had some serious difficulties, and I'm not quite sure how I got it working. (?)

Yes, fixed and working fine. I've sorted a little of the conversion out in my mind since posting this, but the way things happened was weird -- hence the questions.
