There is *almost* room for the top RF shield to fit on top of the 32-in-1 module in a 130XE, but it does make contact with the top of the chips.

Any problem with placing a piece of electrical tape over the top of the module to make sure there is no electrical contact between the module and the shield? There isn't any significant pressure on the module -- just contact.

Won't cause any problems unless there is enough pressure on the PLCC socket to push the module sideways and possibly bend the pins at the DIP header.

I cut a square hole in the shielding, and then I used electrical tape around those 4 edges.

I think that is an excellent idea, so I followed your advice. A little tricky to cut, but I cut, "nibbled," and filed and got a pretty clean looking hole.
