I couldn't get this thing set up with 3.5f so i flashed it with 4.4beta. I can setup partitions on a cf card, but can't get it formatted with mydos. I've tried all day and give up. I have an 800xl (64k) and I have tried with a 1050 and APE sio2pc. All I get are errors 160, 163 or 44. Can someone guide me. I want to be able to boot from the cf(on ide adapter). I don't think I'm getting the key combos correct or they don't work. Other than the menu appearing I get no feedback that key combos do anything.

Thank you in advance

Can you use fdisk and make only 1 partition D2: 720 sectors sd?
Then power down, restart and load mydos from real 1050 or ape.

Now check if there is a d2:, press 2 and check if mydos tries to read (garbage on screen)
Yes: partition is made and present.
Now try to format it.
If the anser now is no (error xxx), there is a problem with the interface or IDE-media.

There are some problems with certain atari's, myide, IDE or power-surplies.

Later,
Sijmen.

Thank you Sijmen,
you put me on the right track. It turned out the CF card (Lexar) that I was using was not being properly recognized. I swapped it with one
from PNY and followed your steps and everything worked correctly.

While trying to set this up, could you get to FDISK (menu) via Option+Select+Start at boot-up?
