I'm trying to run Basic XE, from OSS, on the Flash Cart, but it doesn't work. When I add it to my workbook, the software says something about I should add it as an .xex file. I do this, but when I run it from the cart on my XEGS, all I get is a blank screen. Other .bin and .rom files work. Does anyone know how I can run Basic XE on the flash cartridge?

Thanks.

look for a modified Basic XE image in the forums here... you must use the modified image as the banking scheme is different than the original rom you are probably trying to use

look here

I put the image on my flash cart and ran it on my XEGS. It brings up a title screen, says it will rewrite my flash cart with an image of Basic XE 4.1, and ask if I want to proceed. No matter what I type, y, n, or anything else, the cursor turns into an inverse B. Then nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks.

It flashes the cartridge itself without using x86 usb programmer... so put cart in Atari and insert disk into drive or Ape slot 1, make sure to hold down option at boot if it doesn't and if needed hold option and press reset then leave go after you see it's loading. follow the prompts..

I followed your instructions and began flashing my Flash cart with the Basic XE 4.1 image via my SIO2PC cable. When it got to location 10 on the cartridge, it said "Disk Error." I tried it a couple more times, but still got the same error. Does this mean the image I'm using to flash the cartridge is bad?

Thanks again for your help.

I would download the image from the thread again and try izarc or 7 zip to unzip it, then give it a go I don't remember it being a problem I will try a fresh download and flash some carts again myself, maybe something has changes but on disk I/O error is indicative of a damaged disk image... not a bad flasher etc..
