I'm very proud to announce that Steven Tucker is continuing the internal MyIDE line.
Below you find some pictures of the proto-type I have tested.
Compatibility scores 10 out of 10 (on all IDE devices tested on XL and XE's)!
Even the SimpleTech module works great.
The FlashROM contains the standard OS for recovery function,
latest MyIDE-OS (4.3I) and BASIC/MISSILE COMMAND to support XEGS.
The flashrom is user accessable for MyIDE-upgrade and other 8k XEGS roms.
Due to the specific design and more labour, this interface is set at $59,99 (excl. postage)
Edit by classics: XL/XE Internal kits are now in stock, you can order at:
http://www.atarimax.com/myide/
Pre-Orders for the XEGS kit can also be placed at the URL above.
Features:
1) Jumper for recovery OS (incase of bad flash).
2) Jumper for power on pin 20 (for modules and CF-card).
3) LED terminal.
4) Hookup terminal.
5) 1 Mb Flash-rom.
6) MyIDE interface.
7) GAL-interface logic
8) Quality 90° angle IDE-connector.
9) 28 pin Precision socket connector.
Kit includes:
-3 wire hookup cable + connector.
-28 pin socket.
XEGS:
This interface has a slightly different design to fit in the casing.
The GAL-interface sees the XEGS and addresses 2 extra 8k rom spaces
to include for example BASIC and MISSILE COMMAND.

Here is a short video of the flash upgrading process.
Basically you just load a normal EXE/XEX/COM file containing the upgrade, either off disk or cartridge.

The MyIDE Internal flash toolkit is now available for download.
This includes a small windows application to make Atari XEX programs that will re-program your internal flash OS.
These XEX files can be loaded from any atari binary file loader like the APE Loader, Flash Cartridges and disk boot loaders.
The install also includes dos batch files that show how to make images from the command line using only the dos 'copy' command.
The installer can be downloaded here:
Download MyIDE Internal Tools
If you want just the programs and batch files for making images by hand, the ZIP archive can be downloaded here:
Download MyIDE Internal Tools (ZIP Archive, No Windows Installer, No Windows Application)

Hi Steve-
Can you post a picture of a 1200XL/XEGS prototype? (I was thinking that I read an estimated date of 12-16?) Of course, if you don't have it, you don't have it...

Hi Steve-
That's very good news! But you don't mention 1200XL in this post. (?) Is there an issue with the 1200XL? When you get a chance, it would be useful to see a pic of the new XEGS module inserted in a 1200XL. Also, it would be good to see a pic of the two modules setting side-by-side (pin oriented, of course) to help purchasers decide which will work best for their applications. (Scrolling up/down the page isn't very helpful.)
I have my credit card out...
Thanks,
Larry

Looking at the 800xl install instructions, the photo showing the orientation of the installed board appears to be missing. I'm concerned that depending on the orientation, there may not be sufficient space inside the case for a CF card + adapter.

How do I use this #1 jumper? I have tried to reflash with a new file, and program crashes, flashing does not even start. I have done this once before to put River Raid in place of Missile Command. Now I want to replace River Raid and intall Xegs43i with a modified 43i with 'Hais HiSio version 1.20'. ???
TIA

Move the jumper from the pin-20 power position (shown above) to the left so its right beside the harness.
Then start the flashing software and when prompted, remove the rescue jumper.
