Sandisk 64MB CF card (SDCFB-16-101-00): Not compatible. Transcend 256MB CF card: Not compatible. Peak 2GB CF card: Not compatible.
Getting pretty expensive, these failures. Fortunately I found a 4GB 2.5" HDD which works.
This is an external interface (Rev. 3.1, 2003), 2nd run of PCB's without the bootrom-BIOS.

That much incompatibility is strange.
Interface type? On one Atari or several?

Interface type? On one Atari or several? Indeed. This is an external interface (Rev. 3.1, 2003) with a 130XE, although I had previously tried an internal interface with various XL machines without success (I replaced Mexican CPUs, etc, etc). The fact that this unit works with one out of half a dozen IDE units (the 2.5" HDD) is a rare upturn in my luck with MyIDE.

Ah, my last run of interfaces. Strange, the 3.1 run is the most compatible one. Did you repair the PCB by any chance? You need the 74F04 and 74F32 for the gating and the 74LS245 for bus-buffering.
Most problems with not working IDE is bad contacts or bad power. Clean the PCB-connector or swap the atari PSU for a newer one. The later 130XE was shipped with a 1 amp PSU, that is to low. You need 1.5 amp minimum.
Later, Sijmen.

OK: I have a 2amp PSU I made myself; I will test that.
No repairs have been done to the PCB, by the way. Encouraging to know I have a highly compatible board...

I finally got two CF cards to work by performing the stability mod on 74LS08.
