Hello to all,
My name is Max and I am from Italy.
Sorry for my english but I would buy myide for my Atari XEGS. I read about 20 pin connection, is it too difficult to set up it to use with compact flash ide adapter + compact flash? Do I need other pieces of hardware or is it all?
Thanks in advance to anyone can help me.
Max

Hi Max,

No problem, your English is fine.
I'm from the Netherlands and have the same problems sometimes ;-)

The easiest way is the MyIDE+flash cartridge.
That works nicely with a female-ide-to-cf adapter
(search on -international- ebay on these words. You find them for less then 2 euro)
and CF-cards.

The internal MyIDE+flashBIOS needs you to desolder the OS-rom, solder in a socket and place the interface.
Not recommended for unexperienced users.......
Works also great with a CF-setup.

Later,
Sijmen.

Hi Sijmen,
thanks for your answer. I'm going to buy one external cartdrige. Last question, with this configuration (Myide + flash + compact flash ide adapter + compact flash), must I have to set up pin 20 or must I leave untounched?
Max

P.s thanks for saying my good "English", yours is good too ;)

Hi Max,

Pin 20 in the cartridge is already connected to the 5 volt power-line.
The female IDE-to-CF adapter will use this to power the CF-card.

Later,
Sijmen.

Hi Sijmen,

Good, I hope just I don't have trouble with software.
As always, thanks a lot.
