I didn't have this info handy for the 1200XL Internal Flash MyIDE, nor did I find it in the docs. Is this correct?

...back of computer...
+ + + + + + + + + + (10 pins)
w b . r Res Pwr LED

white
-black
-(or no wire)
red
Rescue Jumper (2) (marked on board) (Jumper open = MyIDE)
Power for CF Card (2) (Jumper closed = Power for pin 20)
LED (+ is marked on board for activity LED)

I also don't have the pinout info for the XL/XE interface -- can someone fill it in?

Larry,
Is this the original hookup to the CPU or the second one on PCB plugged into the OS socket. or the Atarimax internal Myide.
If it is the first this zip file has the info...

Hi Roy-

Internal Flash from AtariMax. 1200XL type shown, XL/XE info needed.

Thanks,
Larry

But doesn't that just plug into the existing (OS socket) Machine chip holder. With three wires to be soldered to motherboard.

Try this link to refresh memory... not like the 1200xl at all.

Thanks for the link, Roy. Note that both types have 10 jumper pins. The components are simply "re-arranged" so that the PCB fits the intended applications. AFAIK, the XEGS and the 1200XL are the exact same adapter. The linked picture is a better picture than is in the install docs (fuzzy!), so it is likely like this:
Of course, the 4 pins on this side are for the 3 connection wires.
Probably, the left two pins on the other side are the internal/external power selection.
The next two pins to the right are probably the rescue jumper pins.
The activity LED pins are probably the two vertical pins barely visible over the flash chip holder.

Now, if I can get rid of the "probably"... :wink:

1200XL/XEGS PCB
------------------------
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0

1 = RW
2 = o2
3 = o2
4 = /IDE

5/6 = Rescue Jumper Position (Jumper on = Rescue Mode)
7/8 = Pin 20 Power Jumper Position (Jumper on = Enabled)

9 = External LED Current Source
0 = External LED Current Drain (DASP)

It is safe to connect an LED directly to pins 9/0, place the longer lead in hole #9.

XL PCB
--------
Top Right 1 2 3 4
1/2 = Pin 20 Power Jumper Position (Jumper on = Enabled)
3 = External LED Current Source

It is safe to connect an LED directly to pins 3/4, place the longer lead in hole #3.

Left Side above PLCC Socket - Rescue Jumper Position (Jumper on = Rescue Mode)

Bottom Center
1 2 3 4

1 = RW
2 = o2

Thanks! Good to have the info. I was not quite correct on a couple of them.
