Subj : Great Lakes Atari Computer Users Conference

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Great Lakes Atari Computer
Users Conference originally scheduled for June 29th and 30th at Mercyhurst
College has been postponed indefinitely. Anyone who purchased advance
tickets can receive a full refund at the next SAGE meeting (June 23rd).

Basically, without any direct support from Atari Corp. (or even a
reply!) we have not been able to get enough vendors to commit to the show
to make it the success we would like to see. We received commitments from
some major players in the Atari market including ICD and Best Electronics.

While the show could have been financially successful, we do not feel it
would have been up to our expectations. In fairness to the vendors who
did register, we decided not to proceed with an event which would not also
be financially successful for them.

We have put in every effort to try to avoid this decision and a lot of
time, thought and effort have gone into it. While it is disappointing, I
am convinced it is the right thing to do. We have made this decision
before taking on the major expenses involved with the show. All of those
involved have tried their best to make this event go, but without the
support of Atari, it can't happen.

I'd like to thank all of those on the SAGE and WACO committees
supporting this event for their sincere and outstanding efforts.
Especially, Bob Buman, Patti Irwin, Patty Marshall and Paul Plants. They
have really put forth their best.

If you have any specific questions or comments, I'll try to answer
them.
