I honestly don't think the cheesy little vt52 emulator that 
Atari bundled with machines can do any kind of file transfer.
It's just a bare bones thing that allowed Atari to boast, like
it says on my old 520ST box "for professionals the ST has a
built in terminal program and a standard modem port to dial-up
stock quotations.....etc...". It only allows the most basic
ascii dunb-terminal stuff. You'll have to get better terminal
software to do file transfers I think.
