SIO2PC v.3.00

Summary by (Oscar Fowler)

Hey folks, I just got a letter from Nick Kennedy describing the new version
of SIO2PC. It sounds great!

1) File access to disk images means you can now use disk images much larger
than RAM (up to 16 MB). You can now define disk image size in any random
size (in sectors, up to 65535) instead of choosing sizes from a list. Have
all your Atari programs on one disk! Disk images will still be accessed as
RAMdisks if possible, otherwise physical disk accesses will be used. The
program still uses DOS files on the PC, no direct sector I/O.

2) You can now have your disks numbered from D1: thru D8: instead of 1 thru
4. This is for you fanatics who have 4 physical disks running already.

3) The program now answeres MYDOS (and other's) GET CONFIGURATION and SET
CONFIGURATION commands, so those DOSes can be made aware of your new, large
disk images.

4) You now get a warning before uninstalling a changed ramdisk which hasn't
been written back to the disk.

5) There's a spiffy new COLOR user interface screen. Key fields are color
coded to make it easier to see important statuses at a glance. Current
PRINT_THRU status and chosen options are now displayed on screen.

6) The STATUS line is now new and improved. Two new fields tell you:
   a) the current sector # being accessed, and
   b) the amount of free RAM left.

7) A possible bug was killed which may have made it difficult for certain
DOSes to recognize when a disk image was double density.

8) Formatting now clears the disk image to all zeros - so compression
programs can work more effectively.

Current users of SIO2PC can upgrade to version 3.00 by sending $5 do Nick.
This is EXTREMELY reasonable. I plan to use SIO2PC instead of getting a
Black Box since I've already got a PC and there's no reason for me to go off
and buy different hard drive especially for my Atari.
